In March 2023, the Treasury announced a package of ‘customs measures’, alongside the Spring Budget, to reduce administrative burden for businesses around cross-border trade.

Just over a year on, the government has begun to implement and develop some of these measures following a series of consultations. This includes changes to how special procedures, duty deferment and temporary storage works, while work is ongoing on modernising customs authorisations, simplifying transit procedures and introducing voluntary standards for customs intermediaries.

In this free one-hour webinar on Monday 25 March, customs experts from the Institute of Export & International Trade and Customs4trade, alongside representatives from government and industry, will give an update on the UK’s mission to modernise its borders and give practical tips on how businesses can optimise their customs processes to benefit fully from this.
